§ 1383d. Outreach program for children

(a) Establishment The Commissioner of Social Security shall establish and conduct an ongoing program of outreach to children who are potentially eligible for benefits under this subchapter by reason of disability or blindness.
(b) Requirements Under this program, the Commissioner of Social Security shall— (1) aim outreach efforts at populations for whom such efforts would be most effective; and (2) work in cooperation with other Federal, State, and private agencies, and nonprofit organizations, which serve blind or disabled individuals and have knowledge of potential recipients of supplemental security income benefits, and with agencies and organizations (including school systems and public and private social service agencies) which focus on the needs of children.
